How to find your appliance model number

The name on the front is rarely enough. Find and photograph the complete rating plate before searching for a spare part.

Photograph the whole label

Include the model, serial, production and revision numbers. A cropped model number can miss the detail that separates one version from another.

Use exact letters and punctuation

Zeros, letter O, slashes and suffixes matter. Copy the details exactly as they appear.

Check the result before buying

Compare the description, dimensions, connections and compatibility information on the supplier page.

Where to look

Common rating-plate locations

Washing machines & tumble dryers

Open the door and check the door frame. Also look behind the kick strip or on the rear panel.

Dishwashers

Check along either side of the inner door, around the door frame or behind the lower kick plate.

Ovens & cookers

Look around the door frame, inside the storage drawer or on the rear panel. Keep the power isolated when access requires moving the appliance.

Fridges & freezers

Look inside the cabinet, behind a salad drawer, on a side wall or around the door opening.
